courage and strength of the Lord
In each generation, we are all challenged by this guideline at different times and in our lives. School, family, work, marriage, children, social norms, and war, among many others, provide us with ample opportunities, from the smallest to the largest, to be brave.
A prime and very real example of courage that gets a lot of airtime in our society today is the ability to express yourself without fear of human judgement. “Be yourself”, as the saying goes. That's actually a form of courage, but courage in a deeper sense, a spiritual sense, is what you are willing to give up for the good news of Jesus Christ. It takes that unwavering, unfailing courage to lay down one's life and walk in Him, to "carry one's cross daily."
Only when we truly have the courage to empty out our selfish tendencies and ego can we be fully courageous for God. When we can let go of our own goals, ambitions, and security, we can find the courage to let God do with us what He wills. His will is our ultimate goal in life as we pray, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
The other end of the life spectrum is death.dealing with deathit requires an immense amount of strength and courage. Death is often a reality that affects us through family, friends, acquaintances, and sometimes even complete strangers.
For believers, our mortal death brings us to life with our heavenly Father. Here lies our true citizenship. This is the kind of courage we are called to seek, a courage that says, "O death, where is your sting?" because we know that our lives are entirely in God's hands. It is the same courage that David had against Goliath, Daniel in the lions' den, and Moses against Pharaoh. These bible verses about courage remind us that the scriptures are full of stories to serve as examples.
May these bible verses about courage give you strength and courage to be who God has called you to be. Because death is a triumph and victory brings us into the presence of our Heavenly Father, we are willing to stand firm even if it means death. May God bless you abundantly.
