introduction

Welcome if you are listening for the first time. I'm Audrey Christie. I am a Functional and Integrative Nutritionist and Energy Medicine Physician. Truth Bomb Allergies

To get you started today, I have some truth bombs for you... ready? Allergies are common, but they're not normal. They fall into that category, like PMS, teenage acne and heartburn, and the gastrointestinal issue because everyone else has had it. Usual, yes. Average, not even close. They are a symptom, a warning sign that something is wrong with your body.

For a long time throughout my medical career, I thought seasonal allergies were normal. Something everyone has, just a part of life. NO. Not nearly.

The allergy drug Truthbomb number 2 is not intended for prolonged or frequent use. No, it even says so on the packaging, but I can't tell you how many times people tell me they've been taking over-the-counter or prescription allergy medication for YEARS. YEARS!

Truth bomb number 3, there are major unintended consequences that come with using allergy medication. Some are obvious, that feeling of being on top of something: some people are upset and some are groggy, but there's also dizziness, blurred vision, trouble sleeping, prostate problems, yeast problems, ulcers, stunted growth in children, fluctuations in blood sugar levels. , hormonal disorders.

For my part, I have seen people take a dangerous course. women start withSeasonal allergies as a child, possibly with or without removal of fallopian tubes or tonsils/polyps, then teenage acne, sometimes there are some bouts of asthma or chronic asthma, in adulthood they have trouble conceiving and often have acne in their 30s or 40s years nothing. Then comes the diagnosis of a chronic disease or autoimmune diagnosis.

The good news is that it certainly doesn't have to be that way.

story time

It's kind of interesting that people often see no other way out than to take medication or give their children long-term medication. In fact, I often get a message of sorts: I really need allergy meds, but I don't want to numb myself with allergy meds because it makes me drowsy, or maybe your kids are right, so maybe you know your kids have itchy, watery eyes and a runny nose but they don't want to be drugged or you don't want them on medication. I'm not blaming you at all, there are some natural ways to relieve allergies, but we need to take a two-pronged approach of doing it now without doing more damage AND tackling the root causes so you don't have to. Do this battle every time the weather changes.

What are seasonal allergies?

Seasonal allergies are an IgE-mediated inflammatory response. So what happens is you encounter something like dust, mold, pollen and your body reacts by releasing a lot of IgE antibodies. This triggers a cascading reaction that leads to the runny nose, watery eyes, and stuffy ears you experience. Part of this response is called histamine release, which is why allergy medications are sometimes called "antihistamines." Histamines make everything work to try and remove the allergen from your body.

In the short term, there is coughing, sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, but in the long term there is also a general increase in inflammation in the body and especially in the mucous membranes. Mucous membranes line many different body cavities.

What is the main cause of seasonal allergies?

As I mentioned earlier, allergies are a sign that something is wrong with your body. They're a warning sign, if you will. That means they are a symptom, not a cause.

This means that, much like a larger diagnosis, your allergies have many roots — you know the My Tree analogy, right? Often one of its roots is in the digestive tract, and that's what we're going to focus on today. But other possibilities include mold toxicity, ignored food allergies/sensitivities (we'll talk about those too), suppressed pain or anger, parasites (if you don't think you have them, you probably have them), viral infections, Lyme disease, co- Infections, heavy metal toxicity, poor drainage... the list goes on.As I mentioned earlier, allergies are a sign that something is wrong with your body. They're a warning sign, if you will. That means they are a symptom, not a cause.

How to get rid of seasonal allergies forever?

One of the big roots I see in most people is in the digestive tract, so today I'm going to focus on that for a long-term healing strategy. It sounds strange, but the digestive system is where the immune system lives and it's also the main gateway for things entering your body and blood. This is one of those chicken-and-egg situations, but many believe that digestive issues or leaky gut appear first when a baby is weaned on cow's milk, or it could be earlier if they're consuming cow's milk containing formula.

With a leaky gut, the lining of the gut becomes leaky, which means things can happen more easily. This permeability allows food, toxins and all sorts of things to pass through the gut and allow the immune system to do its job and begin the attack.

Most of the time, healing the gut reduces inflammation in the body and cures allergies for good. But healing the gut is the hardest part.

How to Stop Allergies Instantly (Of course)

I'm going to give you the supplements, sometimes referred to as micronutrients, but I want you to understand that you can't really heal the body with supplements, can you? You can't complement a bad lifestyle and diet BUT in the case of seasonal allergies, you need to treat the short-term symptoms naturally while you work, so you don't even need the natural allergy remedies. Therefore, these supplements will help with the symptoms, but they will not cure the root cause of your allergies.Quality versions can be found here (under allergies).

Quercetin with Bromelain – This is a plant food extract and it calms the immune system. You can find it in both the children's chewable tablet and the adults' capsule. You can get authentic child or adult wording by visiting audreychristie.com/fullscript. Total transparency, on my healing journey I really liked the kids versions.

Butterbur: Butterbur is an herb; You can make a tea or a pill out of it. They call it butterbur, but there's nothing buttery about it. Fun history note, they call it butterbur because they used to wrap butter in it in the days of the old Wild West. The extracts are really great for relieving fevers, nasal allergies, and headaches, and they work as antihistamines without that drowsy side effect or speeding side effect.

Nettle - When growing where you are, it can really benefit you. It's really cool how this works. Beware of this herb: it can aggravate some people's allergies, and you should only use it for 8 weeks at a time. This is also available in tea or tablet form.

Additional things you can take to help your gut are the ones I consistently recommend: Vitamin D3 + K2, a healthy dose of Omega 3 BUT if you're looking for a real cure this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Diet for spring allergies

Sometimes supplements can be prohibitively expensive, and again, you can't supplement a poor diet, right? So let's talk about just doing this with food. This is also crucial when taking natural remedies and energy work as it sets the stage for long-term healing.

  1. Say no to dairy products.
  2. Eat more onions, apples, tea, berries, buckwheat, and citrus fruits, including fresh pineapple, on foods that contain quercetin to increase bromelain absorption.
  3. Eat more vitamin C – red peppers are a great source of this alongside your citrus fruits.
  4. Control your food sensitivity. You can follow any diet on the planet that is low histamine, well-tolerated, or healthy30, but the bottom line is that everyone is different and what works for you MOST of the time won't work for your neighbor. I recommend that good people take theirsproven food intolerances once a yearand people on a wellness journey (even weight loss journeys) are screened a little more frequently (maybe 2-4 times a year) if needed. My website has a link for the lowest price you can find and you can try it at home
